The Secret to Breathtaking Photos: Golden Hour Light
Venice is stunning, but it transforms into a dreamscape twice a day: at sunrise and sunset.
I always recommend scheduling our photoshoot during these times. Sunrise in Venice is incredibly intimate. The city is still sleeping, the streets are empty, and we get the iconic spots (like St. Mark’s Square or the Rialto Bridge) all to ourselves. The soft, morning light is incredibly flattering.
If you prefer to sleep in, sunset offers a warm, golden, and romantic light that bounces off the canals and historic brickwork. It’s the perfect atmosphere for love and connection.

“But Mauro, I hate posing and I feel awkward in front of the camera!”
If I had a euro for every time I heard this, I’d buy my own gondola! Please, do not worry. This is the most common fear for couples and families, and it’s completely normal.
My approach is entirely natural. I do not believe in stiff, forced poses. Instead, think of our session as a relaxed walk with a local friend who happens to have a camera. I will gently guide you, give you fun prompts, and help you interact with each other.
My priority is making you feel comfortable and valued. I know the best angles and the best light to make sure you look absolutely beautiful and feel confident. You won’t feel awkward; you’ll just feel like yourselves, enjoying Venice.
What Should We Wear?
Your outfit can elevate the final result of your photos. I always suggest wearing elegant clothing that complements the timeless style and colors of Venice.
Flowing maxi dresses, elegant suits, or smart-casual outfits work wonderfully. Earth tones, soft pastels, or rich jewel tones (like emerald green or deep red) create a stunning contrast against the ancient Venetian stones and the blue of the canals. Avoid heavy logos or overly busy patterns—we want the focus to be on you.
